we used it here last year during the furosemide shortage...pushed it a few times...but had to consult first..with lasix we dont have to.also used ativan in place of valium during that time also due to shortage.

We have never had to use Bumex, We had enough Lasix during the shortage. But have considered changing to Bumex in the future.

Can you give me some feedback on the usage/effectiveness of this drug and any opinions you have.

We use it in Jersey in the Virtua system but I've never needed to use it since Lasix is my first line anyway.

Got Bumex several months ago, but I think Lasix is still the first one people tend to grab unless actively thinking, "Hey, let's try the new one." Haven't heard any high praise or problems.

Bumex works great....remember though it is like 4x the strength of lasix....works faster on your bad CHFers than lasix...just have to be careful with the dosing as it draws fluid off quickly sometimes too quick and then you're running into metabolic problems....It's 3 am and I'm a zombie so this may not make much sense lol cant wait til the shift is over :?
