View Full Version : Looks like I picked up a little pnuemonia

So I had a wicked cold the last few weeks, and missed a day or two to recover, but it was all but gone by Christmas day. I thought I was good to go, and went back to work on the regular schedule. A couple of busy days later, and I found myself in my office this morning just about passing out on the floor after a coupe of coughing fits that left me spinning.

So I ended up having to take an injured staff member down to the hospital anyway, and snuck in for a check while I was there. Sure enough, the doc says I have a good case of pnuemonia.

So a boatload of prescriptions later, and I'm back in bed (or at least on the couch) for a few more days.

So while I sit here and wonder about Nate, I will probably be glued to this box for a couple of days. I will quickly go crazy, so if you guys are getting anything good or even just entertaining, be sure to take a minute and post it up to help keep me entertained.

Thanks, and good luck with the weekend.

Martin :v:

If it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger.

You'll be back to yourself in a month. Best wishes on your recovery.

Except in the cases of radiation poisoning and marriage.

Hey, I wish that was the reason. I haven't had a NY's off in 10 years, but I would trade this bloody illness for another 18 hour shift anyday.

The worst part of this whole mess is the boys had a fatal MI call at the Owner's Banquet last night, and I could not go and help. I spent some time on the phone with them afterwards to help sort out the paperwork and arrange the debriefs and a CISD Counsellor for the Security and F&B staff (some first-timers), but it just drove me nuts that I couldn't go out and help them in person.

I hope the boys are okay that were on the call, I know what its like not being able to go to help on a call.
I had a 19 y/o male at the bar last night w/ Hx of Complex Migraines. I was trying to evaluate him but the manager kept interupting me (have I mentioned I 'love' my part-time job) and telling 911 the guy was having a stroke and had Hx of previous strokes, which he did not, this freaked out his friends. He was having stroke-like symptoms, was hospitalized x2 for similar episode.
I evaluated the guy and stayed with him until WFPS medics arrived, the ACP told me I'd given him a good report, that made me happy.
I should video tape myself giving a report to a nurse one day and post it, you'd have a great laugh!!

True, both are long, slow, and agonizingly painful. Although I have a great wife and a strong relationship. I think that she is slowly poisoning me though.

I came close to pneumonia, but took Mucinex right away when I noticed chest congestion....I got Nasal Congestion at the same time and after about a week of that, I got a sore throat. Thought the sore throat was because of the Post Nasal Drip so didn't do anything for two weeks. After two weeks of nose not getting any better and throat hurt like hell, I finally had one of my providers see me...the strep came back negative but we are treating it like strep...cephalexin 500 TID x 10 days. If that don't kill it, I don't know what will. Hope you get better and good luck!!

Aren't we all!

We just got a new company health plan, so we were joking at the office that since I finally had a pension and good health plan, and I was going to kick it due to a cold. My little brother did jokingly (I hope :p ) put his dibs in for my truck and camera gear too.

I'm doing much better this week. I just have a little bit of an intermittent cough left as I clear out the last of the junk, but the congestion and everything else is gone.

And Moose,

I finally got down to the Hospital to print the AED report for the call on the 30th. Dr. Dibb was there to interpret it with me, and interestingly the report showed strong PEA on the first two cycles. It gradually weakened and disrupted over about 10-15 minutes. It seemed to comfirm Greg's suspicion of Stroke based on hx, but we are still trying to find out the results of the PM.
