Was shopping at the local Wal-Mart sunday night with the spousal unit and I was walking by sporting goods and something caught my eye. I found a conversion kit to make the 2AA mini-mag lights LED. Really simple too. You take out the old light bulb and reflector lens, replace with new LED and reflector lens. Put it together and turn it on. Then noticing that it doesn't come on, you check the polarity on the bulb, switch it. Then noticing you forgot to put the batteries back in. Wow, talk about bright. But it's only three LED lights in it. It was only about $5 in Texas currency.
On my score sheet, I give it 4 out of a 5.

I've seen those, but don't use my minimags anymore, so didn't feel motivated to spend the money.
If you use your's a lot, they should greatly extend your battery life though. With the cost of good batteries, the extended life should pay off the upgrade expense in no time.
Even though I don't use the Mini-Mag's myself either after I bought my Stinger, I would defiantly shell out 5 bucks to check it out since I have a flashlight fetish :wow: Always gotta try the new technology out. Might make it worthwhile to throw in the glove box's of the vehicles.

Nite-Ize is the maker. Did a google search and found this. This is the same thing except now it comes with a push button replacement end cap, which pisses me off because I wouldn't mind having this nifty feature. Oh, well!

Just found replacement LED bulbs for the big flashlights. And they are made by mag-light themselves so the warranty is still valid. Only problem is the cost. At Wal-mart where I found mine, they are $19 a piece. www.maglite.com has very little info, doesn't look like it's been updated yet. They have different ones depending on if you have a 2 cell, 3 cell or 4 cell flashlight, doesn't matter if it's size C or D. So far I'm impressed.
