Nasal Versed

Anybody using Nasal Versed? We've looked at adding it to our drug bag and wondered if anyone had any info on it or has had any good or bad luck with it. Thanks

sounds fun but we dont carry versed period i wish we did tho, our medical director sucks!

I have not personally used it on a call, but we have intranasal Versed in our protocols. From talking to the other guys, the effects are very quick and they like it.

New study out in the October 2005 edition of Journal of Emergency Medicine.

EMS study out of Denver regarding inhalation Naloxone and a pilot for prehospital (and in hospital use) of nasal routes of adminitration of a variety of medications.

If you have access to a medical library or medical school library, take a look at it. Good ammunition for inhaled Rx in our field. Medical directors and supervisors (aka "Stupidvisors") might be pretty interested in it.
