I have some questions about Esmolol. I've found all the stuff for it's specifics but am curious about if anyone still uses it or have used it. I found some stuff about it being used for PSVT on patients who have used meth and was trying to find out if it's still used.
Thanks in advance.
I know our squads around here don't even have it. I don't know anybody who uses it up here. I'll check with other squads and with a friend of mine in er to see if they've ever used it. I'm sure it's good but with our time and distance from the er it doesn't warrant taking the time to set up a drip. Like I said, I'll check around up here. I think we talked about it a couple of years ago and nobody has even seen it anywhere.

Thanks. I'm sure since the article was several years old, like in 1997 or something, that other stuff has now become the norm.

asked some of the older medics round here and they said they dont remember using it, I looked the drug up i think maybe its not used because you cannot use it when you use epi, , or on patients with copd, asthma the drug causes wheezing and resp. distress.

I remember seeing it in the 90's when I worked in surgery but not in the ems services.
