HMM, don't know what to tell you on that one. We normally don't respond (In our rescue trucks) to dental emergencies or oral hygiene issues. Maybe someone here wears dentures and can help you or possibly point you to an appropriate site to answer your questions. We deal with Emergency Medical Services here.

Um, yeah. I know denture tablets are great for cleaning out my camelbaks after riding through the woods.

They work decently, as I recall. I had some orthodontic appliances at one point and used denture cleaning tablets on them. I also think they wouldn't sell the items if they didn't work. Really, though, you should discuss this issue with your dentist, rather than a bunch of paramedics. Our training in this area is lacking, to say the least.

I don't know Greg, dose polident make it more difficult to remove the dentures to intubate?

Man, I need to get out more.

Seeing as Polident is a denture cleaner, and not an adhesive, it shouldn't. In fact, it should make them cleaner and better smelling when you do remove them. When your patient starts barfing up their last meal, and all sorts of nasty smells abound, just take a whiff of their minty fresh dentures to clear your head and get you back in the game.

Is this a joke?

I too, am just a little sceptical of this post. However, if it's for real I will offer a couple of suggestions. 1. Take the dentures out and brush the whole thing with regular toothpaste, rinse and replace to normal place of occupancy. I know that DaSharkie must have had a hard weekend because certainly a MARINE knows the difference between Polident and Poligrip. 2. Sometimes this brushing and rinsing needs to be done a couple times a day depending on how many times you have to eat crow,:rotflmao:

By the way, I have all my teeth but I'm married to the one that doesn't. Most of the time she has the fresh mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It isn't a very funny joke...I've just noticed that the poster hasn't bothered to ask or say anything else...plus who gets false teeth and doesn't get instructions from their doctor on how to use/clean them?

Polident, poligrip. Same thing.

It wasn't a rough weekend, just shut the ol' brain off. Took me a while to get the brain going this morning when I returned to clinic.

It's tough getting old man. I strongly advise against it.

I was wondering if it was a joke, too. But then, I wonder the same thing many times I step out of the ambulance, as well. I put up with the folks and help them when they call 911, so I'll do the same here, I suppose. :D

Sorry guys, i was out of town and dont have any connections for computers and everything. Im sorry too that i didnt bothered and say anything else aside from asking some tips. Am i really that desperate? :( I got false teeth since i was 40 and this is my second time around and i still have the same issues and that is having off "foul odor". I have some instructions on how to use and clean them but i dont know what went wrong. I usually use whats on sale on the market but there's no used, most of the time my friends asked me some questions and i just nodded.. then they ask me try this one and this and etc. Thats why i ask which is good the polident or efferdent, im trying to choose between the two denture cleaner.

P.s Thank you, even you were into paramedics and not into dentures and hygienes you still have a heart to give me some advice and etc.

DaSharkie, they are not the same thing, polident=cleaner, poligrip=adhesive, end result would be like using Preparation H as a tooth paste.:rotflmao:
