I have been trying to find a Paramedic job overseas but have not been getting any response from KBR . Does anyone have any idea where else to go. Also I am very interested in moving out of state I now reside in ohio but would love to move back to Lousiana, or go to Cali. If any one knows of some good departments or companies in those states that would help to.

Thanks,

Iraq isn't a friendly place to be right now, and the KBR contract folks aren't exactly safe from harm. I know two guys over there as contract firefighters, and they've come very close to the business end of an RPG a couple times. Just some food for thought.

I'd keep an eye on http://www.jems.com/careerpath/ for local opportunities, too.

I work for East Baton Rouge Parish EMS. I am sure they will have a few openings soon. We are putting up 2 more 24 hour trucks as well as another 12 hour truck. They are going to need at least 20 more people this next year. I am not sure when this will take place. Probably not till after the first of the year but this is a very good department to work for. Up till last week we was the paramedic ambulance service of the year.

You can click HERE (http://www.brgov.com/dept/HR/jobdesc.asp?GetTitle=EMT+%2D+PARAMEDIC) for a job description and HERE (http://www.brgov.com/dept/ems/) for our departments website. I wouldn't bother calling anyone for a couple weeks if you was interested as we are under a state of emergency right now but just thought I would put it here for you for future reference.

Sacramento City Fire Dept

http://www.cityofsacramento.org/fire

and

Sacramento Metro Fire District

http://www.smfd.ca.gov

They always seem to be hiring paramedics and firefighters.
