View Full Version : Read Threads not showing as read

Hey:

I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem...it's not really a problem, but kind of nuisance...When I come into the forums, I still have threads that I have read are reported "not read"...does this make sense?? So I have to re-read threads and sometimes they are still not showing up as "read".

See if it is working any better now... I just upgraded the forums to Version 3.0.8 which has a few security and bug fixes.

I noticed that if you just click the main forum link instead of first going out to the subforum link and then to the main forum it does that too.

Nope, no better, I went through and went into each forum and read each "new thread" including this forum. I read each and every one (again x 3-4 in most cases)...left the site...came back and they were all still there as not being read.

THe only way anything is showing as read for me, is if I actually sign out and then sign back in (I cheat and have it remember me when I sign on at home).

I was noticing that problem yesterday, but today it seems to be better.

Did someone find a fix?

When I signed out and back in, it eliminated the problem...but I shouldn't have to do that...correct?? Could it be a browser problem because I access the forums on my work PC and my home PC and haven't had any problems til a couple days ago.

this has been happening to me also, just haven't had any free time to complain, oh well, you guys still do good work, when it is fixed it'll be wonderful, until them keep up the good work.

Same with me, now I'm having to read them all, log out, and log back in when I'm ready to read again.

It looks like this is actually a VB feature... While I have had other VB Forums not have this issue, I think it is the volume those forums get (ie firehouse.com).

According to the VB site, this issue will be fixed in the next release, which is close to final. :)

Thats good to here, any chance we will be able to change the colors on our own, or is there only going to be the standard color scheme?

Just so you know Sean, I am still having this problem...It tolerable, just have to log out each time and then back in.....

This should not be an issue any more... When you read a thread it should now be marked as read... Let me know if we are still seeing issues with this. :p
