Yeah, Yeah we probably have heard these before but do you have any new ones of your own? Here is mine.

You know you you are in EMS when.... everytime you leave your full time hospital EMS job and go to your part time job, everyone in unison says "arrrrghh! I guess we will see you back here in an hour with a code" .....and they are right.

Okay maybe it was funnier to me when I was sleep deprived and cleaning up icky human goo this morning...

So what's yours????

you know you are in EMS when....
You are watching the monthly training films (at the job that actually hands you a paycheck, vs. the one you do in your time off for free) and the people on both sides of you pass out at the sight of the fake blood. As you and your partner/buddy lay them out and lift their legs you calmly discuss the spaghetti that is being served in the cafeteria for lunch, thus causing a second wave of faintings.

You know you're in EMS (volunteer) when...

1. You regularly find yourself shopping for a new alarm clock after beating your snooze button into submission the morning after a 2am MVA call.

2. Your bedroom wall beside your bed has curious pager shaped indentations in it.

Why doesn't the boss ever understand that a 2hr callout in the middle of the night means you should automatically get to come in 2 hours late.

You know you are in EMS when you can eat a plate of spaghetti (and meatballs) in a moving ambulance, work the siren, and talk on the radio
at the same time, scrape some mangled MVA victim off the road, and then eat the rest of your cold spaghetti on the way to the next run.

And not get any on your white shirt
