View Full Version : Looking for Associate Editors
http://www.foops.org/images/Steve Icon.jpg
Hello all, I hope you are enjoying the new site format. With the new front page will come some technology advancements we did not have with the old front page.
I am inquiring if any of our members may be interested in becoming editors on the site. It would consist of entering content data for the site and if able, to write articles or at least proof read and upload others articles. Also researching for site content such as upcoming events for article and calender posts and possibly product research and reviews.
I really would like to have a small staff of dedicated FooPers that have too much time on their hands. So, does this sound like something you might be interested in? If so let me know. Email me at admin@foops.org or smurphy@foops.org I would love to hear from you and any ideas you may have.
Sean plans to make a user manual for training to enter materials on the site. He says it is a very easy and user friendly system we have now. Hopefully we will have more features up and running very soon.
Thanks
Steven Murphy
If so let me know. Email me at admin@foops.org or smurphy@foops.org

Perhaps on a limited basis. I'd love to ease my way into education and stuff, but school takes most of my time. Willing to help any way I can.
Interested.
Man, this is dangerous though. I spend too much time online as it is, lol.

Wow, he is so quick to respond.
Guess his email doesn't work.
 :D

Let me know sometime on what you might be able to do. I know you are really busy with school. You would be a very valued asset to the team and in regards to education stuff, we have some new software that will need some sharp people to utilize. Drop me an email or PM sometime to discuss what we can work out

Thank you to all that have posted here and those that emailed me. I believe I have gotten back with everyone so far. If I haven't and missed you, please send me an email. We are building a list and entering the names in the system as I type.
One other thing I would like to ask if there are any instructors here? Sean has a very nice program for us to use here for educational stuff. I don't know if any of you have ever taken on line college classes and utilized an on line campus setting but we have a program that is pretty well the same as most on line universities use. I know it is very close to what I use for my school.
I would love to be able to build more than just on line quizzes. We have the tools to do more than just that. We can build articles and post them in a classroom setting that can have discussion boards just for that classroom, host tests, as well as many other options.
Also, as always, if you want to write up an article for posting, feel free to contact me. I just love it when members send stuff in.
Also, if you know of upcoming conferences and events, we are building a calender and events reminder module for the site. his is one area I am wanting the staff for, to be able to search out events and post them on the site for members information.
More to come soon, like I said, If I haven't got back to you, shoot me an email at admin@foops.org

We have used WebCT and BlackBoard at my "regular" college and at the college I went to become a paramedic.
Both are good, just make sure your server is strong to support fast downloads of power point presentations and stuff of that sort.

Brubaker,
Your Oh, oh, oh thing reminded me instantly of Horshack from Welcome Back Kotter. Thanks for the laugh. :rotflmao: I know, I know I am getting old.
Smurfe,
I have tons, literally megabytes and more kilobytes of powerpoints from virtually any specialty. I have some REALLY good stuff on brain infarcts with post mortems of cerebral tissue. I don't have a really good break until May, but I can see about whipping some stuff together.
As much as emergency stuff is cool and I love it, I think that it would be great to really delve into the pathophysiology behind what we see when we pick up a patient.
We start OB in April and I am here to tell you right here and now - I WILL NOT, I SAY AGAIN NOT!, BE DOING ANYTHING ON OB. :v:
If there is a way, I might be able to put together a few powerpoints that could end in quizes or something like that. Obviously not for con-ed hours, but it is always good to do reviews of information and delve deeper into things.
I'll be sending you an e-mail with my IM and e-mail addresses so you can contact me.
Also, thanks for the compliment, it means a lot to have people think I know what I am talking about - sometimes I don't always feel that way.
I am lousy at mass emails. Scroll down and see if you can see a new forum called Editor Forum, if you can see it, please respond to the post letting me know your permissions are set right. This are will allow us to communicate easier and faster than emails.

I suck at OB. I'll admit that is my weakness.

I wouldn't mind lending a hand either if you still need help. Hell, I'll even do OB. ;)
